A. The regular and usual place for conducting the affairs of government of Jasper County is the Jasper County Courthouse, located in the City of Rensselaer, Indiana.

B. The Jasper County Courthouse shall be open to the public for the transaction of business from Monday to Friday, inclusive, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., inclusive, except on Jasper County legal holidays.

C. The Jasper County Sheriff shall preserve order and protect life and property within the Jasper County Courthouse and grounds.

D. The Board of Commissioners hereby establishes the Jasper County Jail, and, in pursuance of its obligation under State law to maintain a County Jail, hereby approves the Articles of Incorporation of the Jasper County Jail Building Corporation and ratifies the ordinance granting authority to that corporation, and confirms all appointments to corporate office made prior to the enactment of this code.
