A. The Jasper County sex and violent offender administration fund is hereby established. The purpose of the fund is to defray the expense of administering or ensuring compliance with the laws concerning the Indiana sex and violent offender registry. The Jasper County Council may appropriate money from the fund for this purpose.

B. The annual fee for sex or violent offenders registering in Jasper County shall be $50.00. The fee shall be due and payable upon the offender’s initial registration in Jasper County and subsequently on each annual registration date.

C. A fee of $5.00 shall be due and payable each time a sex or violent offender registers an address change with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department.

D. All sex or violent offender registration fees shall be collected by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department when a sex or violent offender registers initially or annually, or changes his or her address with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department.

E. All sex or violent offender fees collected by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department shall be transferred to the Jasper County Auditor in a timely manner. The Jasper County Auditor shall monthly:

1. Deposit 90 percent of any collected sex or violent offender fees in the Jasper County sex and violent offender administration fund; and

2. Transfer 10 percent of any collected sex or violent offender fees to the Treasurer of the State of Indiana for deposit in the state sex and violent offender administration fund under IC 11-8-8-21. [Ord. 5-6-19A § 1.]
