The retiring Merit Deputy or Sheriff must have served honorably for the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office for a minimum of 20 years in good standing and meet the definition of a “retired law enforcement officer” as defined in 18 USC 926C. [Ord. 1-6-15A § 3.]
