A. After adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, the District shall impose a connection fee of $300.00 per equivalent dwelling unit (“EDU”) for each new customer connecting to a public sewer system within the District’s territory.

B. The connection fee will be determined on the basis of the total number of EDUs with a residential unit considered one EDU. All other parcels of land not used for residential dwelling units shall be converted to EDUs based on the anticipated sewage from such real estate as compared to the anticipated sewage for residential dwelling units. Consistent with 327 IAC 3-6-11, residential units have been determined by the District to require 310 gallons of sewage capacity per day.

C. No structure connecting within the District’s territory shall be treated as less than one EDU for purposes of the District’s rates and charges.

D. The connection fee may be collected by the District or another entity on the District’s behalf. [Ord. 11-4-13 § 1.]
